Minutes of the Committee Meeting held at Haddenham Sports and Social Club on Tuesday 17th November 2009 commencing at 8.00pm
Martyn Livermore (ML), Keith Richardson (KR), Brian Freer (BF), Andrew Maguire (AM), Kevin Gray (KG), Martin Gray (MG), David Hughes (DH), and Carl Woolf (CW)
Roger Fensom (RF), Val Parkes (VP), Mike Bradshaw (MB), Lesley Rate (LR) and Janet Nicholls (JN).
These were agreed.
64 shirts have now arrived from Jarvis. MG and RF have sold several to senior and Vets sides.
After distribution to other sides, excess will be sold at tournaments.
Thanks to Jarvis and MG for their work in arranging this excellent deal.
Current A/C stands at £585.94 and Deposit A/C at £879.96.
Further funds will be available once the revenue from the new county shirts has been collected.
1st team will be playing in Div 1A on 12th & 13th December – venue still to be confirmed.
Possible issues with women players as regulars have yet to confirm.
MG to investigate registration of David Atkinson.
2nd team played first match on the 17th October. Some players were missing from the side due to a conflict with the Newcastle Grand Prix. Although the team gave their all, they finished bottom of the division.
Veterans (RF report read out by KG)
Over 60’s
Week of 10th November the Over 60s began their County season with matches at Halifax.
Results were:
Cheshire 2 3 Cambs 7,
Cambs 2 Cheshire 1 8,
Warwickshire 2 Cambs 8, and
Cambs 1 Worcestershire 9.
Cambs were represented by Rod Hatton, Chuck Kershaw, Val Parkes and Roger Fensom.
Week of 24th November all remaining three Veterans teams will be playing. 1st and 2nd at St Neots and 3rd at Draycott.
At St Neots Cambs 1 play Norfolk 3 and Surrey 4 and will be represented by Kevin Gray, David Tiplady, Simon Pryke and Yvette Hooks.
Cambs 2 play Herts 3 and Norfolk 3 and will be represented by David Rowell, Liwu Wei, Reno Phyo, Steve Trevanion and Amanda Mills.
At Draycott Cambs 3 play Leics 3, Staffs, Northants 2 and Shropshire and will be represented by Andy Merritt, Terry Lane, Roger Fensom and Diane Gutteridge.
Juniors (LR written report + ALL)
Patrick Mohan selected as junior team captain.
Although team has been selected, CW enquired why some emerging juniors had not been selected especially behind cadets. CW to email list of names etc to MG who will then pass information onto LR.
All leagues encouraged to pass on information to ML for press coverage. This is also to include British League Vets results (KR).
Cambridge (VP report read out by BF)
Wilmot cup resulted in two 4-1 loses to North Middlesex and Ipswich, with group won by North Middlesex. Cambridge represented by KG and MG. Thanks to VP and all at St Neots.
League experiencing an unexpected high level of postponements due to player injuries.
Ely (CW)
New website operational. AM to send David Harrison a link to put on county website.
Many postponements to league matches which is creating an early season backlog.
March (MB via e-mail correspondence)
All league matches up to date. Semi-finals of team handicaps played this week.
Tuesday Club continues to be successful. MG to visit in the near future
Juniors should be encouraged to enter county competition. .
Peterborough
No report received.
Wisbech (DH)
League progressing well with the Sleight doubles into the semi-final stage.
Championship likely to be contented by Eagles and Kings Lynn based Trojans.
Strong injection of juniors in league.
Annual championship arranged for weekend of 28th February 2010, and presentation on either 1st or 8th May 2010.
Coaching continuing at two schools and JN confirmed as second league rep.
Questions regarding insurance to be sent to BF (DH).
St Neots (BF on behalf of league)
Fees paid for 10 teams.
League requires Rep. TBD.
Individual membership will be required for all players for season 2010 – 2011. BF to correspond to ETTA panel to verify what information is required, and then report back to committee and individual leagues on findings.
ISA to be implemented next season in conjunction with current CRB checking. This will provide an up to date register for all regarding working / coaching with children within our sport.
New ETTA panel to promote women within Table Tennis.
Free insurance for coaches until 1st renewal date of license.
No report received. However, Mark Michells confirmed as St Neots coach

To be held on 20th March 2010 at Neale Wade School, March, starting at 9.00 a.m.
Entry form to be placed onto county website, with Ely and Wisbech websites to follow. BF to organize.
All members (including all ranked players) should be urged to attend, but special encouragement should be taken to urge all juniors and cadets from the region to participate.
ML to organize trophies or certificates.
Speedy bat to attend.
Attempts to generate sponsorship for individual events should be looked into to generate funds, and promote table tennis in the community.
Further discussions to take place in committee’s next meeting (January 2010).
Website Revamp
MG to speak to SLA (Steve Annison), regarding a possible rework of the county website. MG to report findings at next committee meeting.
Other
BF to contact ETTA regarding list of legal glues after request from Cambs league player.
KG to contact David Harrison to put minutes onto website.
