Cambridge (VP / BF)
League tournament completed. 58 entries with 21 of these coming from outside the League (i.e. University and Juniors). 5 main titles were won by Cambridge University players.
Vets Handicap Singles was replaced by Vets Drawn Doubles this year, which meant that there was no reduction in the number of events. This will need looking at for next year as it makes

for a very long day. More help is required in the putting up and taking down of tables, and more raffle prizes are needed. There was an overall loss of £160 on the tournament.
The Handicap competition has reached the semi-final stage.
Ely (AM)
Haddenham are looking to be the probable winners this season.
The League’s website is up and running well.
The Tournament at Ross Peers had 60 entries, with £1,000 being taken in fees. Thanks to sponsorship from G’s Marketing, the League had made a handsome profit. The singles were played on a group basis which proved popular.
March (MB via e-mail correspondence)
2 outstanding league matches.
Final of the handicap team singles to be played during last week of March.
League Closed tournament to be held on 21st March.
Peterborough (RH)
The League looked healthy with 3 Divisions consisting of 9/10 teams in each one. RH had started a new club at Hampton Hargate, entering 2 new teams in the League. There was a good group of approx. 30 at Hampton and a Junior League had been started. The development of the Dogsthorpe Focus area was being looked at as a possible venue for table-tennis in the district. RH was actively looking to open up a club locally for seniors and juniors, however, costs of venues were rather prohibitive. A suggestion by the Peterborough League to hold an inter-league competition for the top teams from nearby Leagues had received support from the Stamford League. Other Leagues were being sounded out.
St Neots
The opening of the refurbished St Neots Club had taken place. KR and Mick Palmer had given a demonstration, compered by Mark Mitchell (MM), and this was followed by an exhibition match.
The Monday evening sessions, with MM in attendance, were well attended.
Wisbech (DH via e-mail correspondence)
The League is all but over with only the cups to be held. The new team based largely on some very good players from the King’s Lynn Premier, Trojans, have won the League.
Next year looks very promising as hoping to include more juniors. Venues remain a problem.
The 2010 Championships went well, being held over a weekend, with the juniors having an entry of 40+.
Coaching is taking place in 2 schools and, because there is no charge for the coaching, the headmaster of one of the schools gave his school’s premises free for the two days of the League Championships, enabling the League to make in the region of £500-£600.
BF circulated a document outlining the Implementation Process for ETTA Individual Membership for the Initial Season 2010/11.
No report received.

BF has received the new trophies and is getting a new shield for the Men’s Doubles. ML kindly agreed to give this and it will therefore be called the Chairman’s Trophy - to be presented at the County AGM if it is not received in time for the Tournament. MG has gathered in 7 of the perpetual trophies.
Although KG had provided an excellent prototype design for certificates, it was agreed to continue with presenting trophies for this season.
Raffle prizes required and cakes welcome.
Sam Wilkin will be coming to help.
County Teams
In view of the heavy cost of turning out so many teams in the County Championships, the number of entries for next season were discussed. As both Senior teams will be in the same division next season, it was agreed to drop the Senior 2nd team. ML to discuss the Junior and Cadet team entries with LR.
Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting will be the AGM on Tuesday 8th June 2010 at 8.00 p.m. at Haddenham Sports and Social Club.
The meeting closed at 9.54 p.m.
