Juniors (No report)
Due to no report and no communication with LR, RF read out the findings from the last committee report, which indicated that the junior side finished 8th in their division (out of 8), and incurred approx £100 worth of fines due to lack of players.
Junior ranking was then discussed. ML and KR expressed that a system was in place, and that all league reps were aware of the methods (competitions etc) and it was their responsibility to both feed this information to their members and also bring to the attention of the committee, the names of any upcoming juniors of county standard.
The Income and Expenditure Account shows that a loss of £1172 over the year. This is mainly due to an outlay of £1391 for 64 County shirts (£1391), and increased expenses of the county teams. This is a concern, but the county still has 20 shirts as capital, and team expenses should be reduced next season.
Competition revue increased by £161 this year, with this increment attributed to the raffle and teashop.
Umpire’s Secretary (BF)
Obtaining qualified umpiring status was discussed, with BF encouraging Leagues to find more members keen to undertake the award. Note: There is no costs for these awards.
Junior umpire awards are also available, and papers for both are available directly from BF, who will send information to all league secretaries.
Press Officer (ML)
During the season reports of County matches and the County Tournament had been sent to several papers including the March Advertiser, Cambridge News, Ely Standard, St Ives Town Crier, Hunts Post, Newmarket Journal, Haverhill Echo. Local reports had also appeared in the Wisbech area.
Future county reports etc should be sent to the press officer ASAP.
